Watering
Ensure roses are well watered prior to application of fertilizer.
Fertilizer
Fertilize in early spring once the chance of frost has passed and just before new growth begins. Additional light feedings can be applied throughout the growing season. Stop feeding in late summer to enable new growth to mature before winter.
Pruning
Prune 3 to 4 weeks before the average date of the last killing frost. Remove 1/3 to 2/3 of the plant, remove damaged or rubbing canes, and remove spindly canes smaller than a pencil. Open the center of the plant to light and air circulation.
